Product Overview

LDPE- Commodity Thermoplastic

LDPE is more flexible than HDPE, which makes it a good choice for prosthetic devices, most of which are either drape formed or vacuum formed. Impact resistance makes it a natural for impact pads, while its easy machinability makes it a good choice for fabricated parts where chemical and corrosion resistance is demanded.

Features and Benefits:

  • Food Safe: Food safe grades available great for food handling surfaces.
  • wear resistance: Can withstand wear and abrasion making it perfect for conveyors and wear pads.
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including acids and solvents, ensuring longevity and reliability.
  • Low Moisture Absorption: Performs consistently even in wet conditions, keeping its integrity intact.
  • Biocompatibility: Certain grades are suitable for medical use, thanks to their biocompatibility and ability to be sterilized.

Applications:

  • Food & Beverage: Great for cutting boards and food preparation surfaces.
  • Medical: Used in implants and devices due to their biocompatibility and ability to be sterilized.
  • Automotive: Durable and heat-resistant, perfect for various automotive parts.
  • Chemical processing: Capable of resisting harsh chemicals, LDPE is used in pipes and resevoir lining.
  • Industrial Machinery: Wear resistant and long-lasting, suitable for parts that need to withstand tough conditions.

At Northeast Plastics, we offer a wide range of LDPE grades, from standard LDPE to marine grade and pipe grade variants, each designed to meet specific industrial needs. Whether you need mechanical strength, thermal resistance, or chemical stability, we have the perfect LDPE grade for your application.
